Math - After Spring Break, most math classes will be wrap up the decimal unit. Students learn to add, subtract, multiply, and divide decimals using multiple strategies. Chapter 5 & 6 of the My Math textbook can be used as a resource.

Science - We have just finished a Hydrosphere Unit, where students learned all about human impacts on water quality, how water is distributed on earth, water cycle, and how humans can help meet the water needs of the world. The 5th graders engineered a product that took salt water and turned it into freshwater. We will be starting a Life Science Unit that focuses on Plant and Food Webs.
Language Arts- We will be focusing on Theme in fiction stories. Students will compare and contrast theme among several stories.
Reading- Trimester 3 focuses around Journeys. Students will read a variety of novels, articles, and biographies. Students are currently reading books in the literature circles.
